Thymol now available via CDN!

We're delighted to be able to announce that jsdelivr have agreed to publish Thymol via their excellent CDN!

You can now access the Thymol minified files at lightning speed using URLs like this:

  http://cdn.jsdelivr.net/thymol/latest/thymol.min.js

For more information see https://github.com/jsdelivr/jsdelivr.

That's great!

What is the URL for version 1.1?

Tried

cdn.jsdelivr.net/thymol/1.1.0/thymol.min.js

and

cdn.jsdelivr.net/thymol/1.1.0-SNAPSHOT/thymol.min.js

but get a "file not found" message

Hi Jaizkibel,

Sorry, but there isn't one. As this is a new service I haven't yet considered trying to get the older builds onto jsDelivr.

The guys at jsDelivr usually only accept non-snapshot builds so this might present a problem. The full release of version 1.1.0 was side-lined when 2.0.0 came along. Version 1.1.0 hasn't even been migrated to github. If there is a lot of interest in bringing Thymol 1.1.0 up to release standard then I will give it some attention but at the moment I'm trying to get 2.0.0 ready!

In the meantime if you really want to use 1.1.0 then I think you have 2 choices.

   1. Download from sourceforge at http://sourceforge.net/projects/jjbenson.u/files/thymol/thymol-1.1.0-SNAPSHOT-2013-12-03.zip/download and copy this file to your own web server as is.

   2. Same as above, but compress the file before loading to your web server - there is no minified version of 1.1.0 available for download at present.

As an alternative, you might consider using thymol-lite? This has a bare minimum of the Thymol 2.0.0 expression object library built-in and as such is functionally similar to 1.1.0 (but with Thymeleaf 2.1 capability and many bug-fixes!). The "Lite version is much smaller than the full version and should load much more quickly.

Also, you can pull the lite version from jsDelivr, to do this you need to use a script tag a bit like this:

        <pre><script type="text/javascript" src="http://cdn.jsdelivr.net/thymol/2.0.0-beta2/thymol.min.js" data-thymol-src="thymol-lite.min.js"></script></pre>

  I hope this helps!

  Kind Regards,

    Jim

Hi Jim,

OK, i can live with that. I am using thymol 1.1 for quite a while and have no problems with it.
Only was trying to get rid of my local thymol files.

Will have a look at version 2.0 soon.

Regards,
Jaizkibel
